Created in a classroom that needed a bit of color. The sections were initially intended to refer to several of Joe's favorite painters: Beckmann, Rivera and Van Gogh, though in the event, time constraints led to the Rivera homage in the form of calla lilies being the most thoroughly carried out.

Paintings
The foundation of Joe's work. In painting, Joe discovered the possibilities for visual communication and the greatest historical inspiration. His canvasses are largely earlier works, though he will return from time to time to paint on panels or found surfaces.
