A Story I Heard Once
Oil on Canvas 30" x 40"
2003
Raconteur Sean O. went to the grocery store early on a Saturday morning. He noticed, as the automatic door whooshed shut behind him, with him in the wide foyer caused by the picket of checkout lanes, where the coin operated copier, gumball machines and amusements were kept, was one of the meat cutting staff. The man was playing a crane game intently, a Baby Ruth bar clutched in his free hand. He hadn't bothered to remove his apron, his rubber boots, or indeed any of the evidence of his morning's exertions.
