Homage to the great American anti-hero, great anti-hero American, anti-American great hero, anti-great American hero. The man iconic for his life as much as his writing and spoken word. It seeks to identify a Burroughs amid the writhing desolation of his kamikaze brand of surrealism layered upon the ghosts of ancients, recording the ebb and flow of battle- snakes versus cats: a primal struggle between universal spirits- his vocabulary drawn from a condition of having childhood dreams charred by postnuclear disappointment; of guarded awe for living and the immense potentials that humanity always seems to fall short of.

Paintings
The foundation of Joe's work. In painting, Joe discovered the possibilities for visual communication and the greatest historical inspiration. His canvasses are largely earlier works, though he will return from time to time to paint on panels or found surfaces.
