Glazed Stoneware
2002
The functional motive for this piece was to create a novel form of coffee creamer, utilizing an inverted spout that uses the cohesion of the cream to carry it up and out of the triangular opening until gravity directs it down again onto its target. It has not been fired in anger, but tests proved promising. Wax resist was used in glazing to create the suggestion of a Guernsey pattern in the mildly complimentary colors of the surface: bay and duck egg blue. The interior is, naturally, a milky white.
