Completed during a workshop conducted by Tim Shuckerow of Case Western Reserve University. For this piece, Joe was inspired by Maori and other Polynesian motifs, while also considering some of the artifacts he had seen constructed by isolated peoples exposed by accidents of war, exploration and commerce to materials of modern industry.
